A data record can't tell you whether someone is uninsured, overpaying on a group plan, or already locked into a marketplace policy. Here's the opener that sorts the three apart in one question, the objections that come up most, and when in the year this list actually pulls its weight.
Auto and term life calls qualify on something close to a yes/no — do you own a car, does anyone depend on your income. ACA health qualifies on a status that changes constantly: covered through an employer, covered through a marketplace plan already, covered through a spouse, or not covered at all. None of that sits on an aged data record, and none of it holds still for long — someone who was insured through a job in January can be shopping the marketplace by June. The opener's only job is to surface which bucket the person is in today, before any plan talk starts.
Every record in Link Leads' aged inventory carries first name, last name, state, ZIP code, a validated phone number (96% mobile), and age, pulled from the 18–64 band — not 65+, so this isn't Medicare or final-expense data. The list is also backed by $100k+ household incomes, which is a targeting signal, not a coverage signal: it tells you the household can plausibly afford a premium, not whether they currently have one. Coverage status, income for subsidy purposes, and marketplace history aren't fields that exist on an aged record, full stop. That's also the line between this list and Link Leads' separate opted-in health insurance leads product — those are people who actually filled out a health insurance form and said when; an aged ACA list is demographic data with no form fill behind it. Script accordingly: you're finding out coverage status live on the call, not confirming something the data already told you.
Lead with the one question that sorts the list into usable buckets, before mentioning a plan, a carrier, or a price:
"Hi, this is {agent} with {agency} in {state}. Quick question — are you currently covered through a job, a spouse's plan, or the marketplace, or is that something you're without right now? Reply YES if you'd like someone to take a look, or STOP to opt out."
No name in the greeting, no claim that the recipient asked for this outreach — it's a cold data contact and the script should read like one. The question does the qualifying; everything after it depends on the answer.
This list behaves differently depending on the calendar. During federal open enrollment, everyone's deadline is the same day, so the list gets worked as one staged campaign — see how to build an ACA open enrollment calling list from aged health leads for the 90-day build plan. Outside that window, the qualifying event question above is doing the real work, and the list should be trickled rather than blasted — a fresh slice worked weekly, with non-responders re-contacted on a 60–90 day cycle rather than written off after one no. That approach is covered in full in ACA special enrollment period leads: how to work aged health data outside open enrollment.
This is aged data, not a consented insurance-form lead — no TCPA express consent is claimed, and the file isn't DNC-scrubbed at delivery. Dedupe by phone, run a DNC scrub, and check for landlines before texting any slice of the list. We point our own buyers at Landline Remover for this — upload the CSV and it strips landlines, disconnected numbers, and DNC-listed contacts in one pass (disclosure: that's an affiliate link and we may earn a commission if you sign up through it). Honor every "stop" or opt-out immediately and permanently, on this list the same as any other.
This is a practical script and process guide, not legal advice. TCPA, state telemarketing and texting rules, and CMS marketing guidelines for ACA plans change and vary by state. Talk to counsel familiar with health insurance marketing compliance before you scale a calling or texting campaign, especially one that spans state lines.
Link Leads sells aged health data by state and age band at a flat $0.012 per lead (minimum order 5,000 leads, $60), phone-validated and filterable in the order builder. Agents buying every month save a third at $0.01/lead on a monthly plan — see pricing for the tiers.
