Resurge beta results: what happened when we worked 1,000 aged leads

The first file through Resurge was the founder's own: 1,000 aged life and health leads, bought, worked, and abandoned like everyone else's. Here is every step of the funnel, the math behind the $85 cost per sale, and the honest limits of one batch.

The batch

Before Resurge went to any other agent, it worked its founder's own aged file. He's a licensed life and health agent, and the file was leads bought from vendors, worked the week they arrived, then shelved when the next batch showed up. The first 1,000 of those leads went through the full sequence: texts and emails in his name, an AI qualifying call on every yes, and a warm transfer to his phone.

Here's what came out, step by step.

The funnel

1,000 leads worked. Already deduped and scrubbed against opt-outs, the DNC list and known litigators before the first text.

27% replied, about 270 people. On an aged file, that's the number that surprises people most. These are leads that had already gone unanswered on the phone. A text with a yes-or-no question asks for less than a ringing phone does, and more people answer it.

16 live transfers. That's 1.6 transfers per 100 leads worked, or about 1 in every 17 replies. A reply isn't a yes. Some replies are a no, a "who is this?", a wrong number or a STOP. Every one of them clears the lead out of the queue, which keeps the remaining sequence pointed at people who might still buy.

4 policies closed. One in four transfers became a sale. That rate belongs to the agent as much as to the software: Resurge delivers the conversation, and a licensed person closes it.

$4,973 in annual premium, about $1,243 per policy on average.

Where $85 per sale comes from

The $85 is the Resurge cost to turn that file into sales. The leads themselves had already been paid for, which is the point. At Solo pricing, the batch works out to $149 for the month plus 16 transfers at $12, about $341 in total. Divided across 4 policies, that's roughly $85 per sale.

For comparison, many vendors sell insurance live transfers for $35 to $60 each, which is the range Resurge's own calculator uses. Sixteen transfers at that price would have cost $560 to $960 before a single policy was written.

What one batch can't tell you

Treat these numbers as a first data point, not a forecast:

Small numbers move a lot. With 4 policies, one sale more or less swings the cost per sale from about $68 to about $114. Sixteen transfers is enough to show the funnel works. It isn't enough to quote a close rate with confidence.

One agent, one file. Lead age, vendor, product line and the person picking up the phone all change the result. Your reply rate on a three-year-old file from a different vendor will be different, and so will your close rate.

The founder closed these. He knows the product better than anyone. Your close rate on transfers is yours to measure.

What's being published next

Every batch since gets tracked the same way: replies, transfers, policies and premium per file, plus reply and transfer rates per vendor, so you can see which lead sources still produce once they're aged. Results get posted on tryresurge.app as they come in, including the bad ones. Resurge's own rule is numbers, not reviews.

Run your own batch

The only numbers that matter for your book are the ones your file produces. Every plan starts with a 14-day trial with no platform fee, so you only pay for transfers you answer and stay on for 60 seconds. Upload a file and find out.

Resurge is built for leads that carry the consumer's original request to be contacted (a quote form), with the consent record kept on every lead. It enforces texting rules, but consent is still the agent's to have. Not for cold data lists. Nothing here is legal advice.
